„EUrope’s Voice 2010“ – eine Stimme für Europa als Antwort auf globale Herausforderungen
Vom 6. bis 9. Mai 2010 fand in der Franken-Akademie in Lichtenfels „EUrope’s Voice 2010“, das europäische Pre-Event zum G8/G20 Youth Summit 2010, statt. Unmittelbar vor ihrer Reise zum Gipfel nach Vancouver/Kanada bot sich den vier europäischen Delegationen aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien und Großbritannien dabei die Gelegenheit, sich in den einzelnen ministeriellen Ressorts auf gemeinsame europäische Positionen zu einigen. Damit steigen die Chancen, während der anstehenden Verhandlungen in Kanada mit einer einzigen europäischen Stimme sprechen zu können.
Neben Einführungen in moderne Verhandlungs- und Moderationstechniken stand das direkte praktische Erproben der erworbenen Kenntnisse im Rahmen der Verhandlungen in den einzelnen Ministerrunden im Vordergrund des Wochenendes. Dies erfolgte auf Grundlage der Positionspapiere, die im Vorfeld von den Delegierten für den G8/G20 Youth Summit 2010 ausgearbeitet worden waren. Die finale Präsentation der Positionen und Ergebnisse von „EUrope’s Voice“ lässt durchaus auf eine starke europäische Stimme auf dem anschließenden G8/G20 Youth Summit in Kanada hoffen.
Vom 9. bis 14. Mai gilt es in Kanada nun für die neunköpfige deutsche Delegation und ihre europäischen Partner, die ausgearbeiteten Positionen während des G8/G20 Youth Summit 2010 zu vertreten. Der G8/G20 Youth Summit bietet einmal jährlich rund 150 Studierenden aus den G8- bzw. G20-Staaten die Möglichkeit, ihre innovativen Lösungsansätze zu den aktuellen globalen Herausforderungen im G8/G20-Prozess zu artikulieren.

EU-workshop in Lichtenfels, Germany 6th-9th May 2010
We have great news for you: Just like last year, we've managed to raise enough funds to finance this year's „EUrope's Voice". Mainly funded by the European Union, EUrope's Voice will give the four European delegations, Italy, France, Great Britain and Germany as well as the EU delegation, the chance, to develop a common European position regarding the G8/G20-topics.
It represents yet another innovative step to make the preparation for the G8/G20 Youth Summit more realistic, as the participants will experience the difficulties of finding a unified European response to pressing global problems.
During the workshop we will meet a representative of an EU institution to discuss the challenges faced during the negotiation process. However, the focus of the workshop lies in the elaboration of agreements on the various topics, as far as possible.
"EUrope's Voice" will take place from 6th - 9th May in the Franken-Akademie in Lichtenfels, Germany, right before the G8/G20 Youth Summit 2010 will commence in Vancouver, Canada. We initiated this workshop because we are convinced that the EU institutions and especially the EU member states should aim to speak with one voice within international setting like the G8 and G20.
Even though in reality such an institutionalized meeting does not take place, we want to go a step further and advance a common European position. We're convinced that there is a necessity to have such a summit and hope that the participants will manage to come up with at least some agreed European positions.
